Thor: Ragnarok May Cameo Another Marvel Superhero

By Danny F. Santos (doddleNEWS)

Most of the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok will take place amongst the stars, according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, but that does mean we should get a few scenes on Earth, as well. Star Chris Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi have shared a few images from the set, which pretty much confirms not only that Thor will return to Earth but also where on our planet they will travel too.

There are definite spoilers past this point based on rumors and a third tweeted image so be warned!

So not only is Thor going to New York City, but his brother is travelling there, too — and dressed in plain clothes. What interests me is Thor’s haircut in these images, which is said to be cut short later in the movie, placing these scenes in an earlier part of the film.

Another rumor we keep hearing is about Odin’s fate after Loki took his place in Thor: The Dark World. The rumor goes that he was somehow stripped of his power, and ended up on Earth carrying a sign about the end of the world being nigh, or — as known in Asgard — the time of Ragnarok. If that’s true, then we know who they’re looking for.

But it’s possible they’re looking for someone else, as well. A fan noticed an interesting detail on a business card that Thor is holding, so check that out below:

Fans of Marvel Comics will recognize 177A Bleecker St. as the address of Doctor Stephen Strange, who will have his own solo film near the end of this year. It’s possible that Benedict Cumberbatch will only have a mid-credit scene as Doctor Strange in the film but, again, going by the clothing and hairstyle Chris Hemsworth is sporting I highly doubt it. So what’s going on here?

I suspect that there’s one other rumor that comes into play, which is Thor loses his hammer. What if he’s banished to Earth (again) and needs a way to get off planet? I can only think of one character on Earth who could open a portal and help him travel to a distant planet, and he lives at that address. It also gives Doctor Strange a way in to the Avengers as only he and the Guardians of the Galaxy aren’t yet known by the others. It further cements the apparent new trend in superhero movies: Team-ups, even if they’re brief.

Thor: Ragnarok will premiere in theaters on November 3, 2017.
