Nestled between fields and close to the Northumbrian Heritage Coastline with beautiful views across to Bamburgh, Holy Island and the magnificent coastline, Old Stone is owned and run by Melanie and Rob who have added personal touches to their home to ensure you have a peaceful and relaxing ... Morebreak.Their generous breakfast menu uses locally sourced food wherever possible including free range eggs, award winning sausages from Rothbury Family Butchers and Craster Kippers and is served with freshly brewed tea and coffee, fresh orange juice and toast. ROOMSBalmain Room has a superb vaulted ceiling with an arched doorway and includes king bed, tub chairs, dressing gown and slippers.Rozelle Room has an arched doorway and king bed, sofa, dressing gown and slippers.Both rooms have travertine tiled ensuite shower rooms with complimentary toiletries, bath sheets and hand towels, Freeview TV with DVD player, Radio Alarm with iPod Docking Station, free WiFi, DVD library, books and games, hairdryer, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities including bottled water and homemade biscuits. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS Old Stone is ideally situated for easy access to local attractions. The historic town of Alnwick is just 9 miles away with it's cobbled streets, weekly market, Playhouse Theatre, the majestic Medieval Castle used in Harry Potter and Alnwick Gardens including a stunning water feature and offering a unique dining experience at The Tree House. A short drive takes you to the picturesque village of Bamburgh with it's spectacular castle and amazing stretch of golden sandy beach and nearby Seahouses is a friendly seaside resort with a small fishing harbour where you can take a boat trip to the Farne Islands, home to seals and puffins. A little further down the coastline is Craster famous for it's smoked kippers. While visiting why not take a stroll to Dunstanburgh Castle! A few miles north takes you to Chillingham famous for ancient cattle that once roamed the great forests of Britain and have survived for over 700 years. No other herd like this exists anywhere in the world. You can also visit Chillingham Castle which is one of the most haunted in Europe.If you prefer to explore further afield you could visit the former home of Lord Armstrong at Cragside with it's amazing house and gardens, Edinburgh, Hadrians Wall or the Cheviots.
